Gala Day
2002
Saturday,
June 15th, 2002, 12 noon start.

from the Gala Day.
The weather wasn't
great but lots of people still came out to enjoy the day, which kicked
off at 12 noon with the Ardgowan Thistle's Soccer Sixes Gala Tournament.
The barbecue was busy as ever and served many happy and hungry customers.
In the evening there was a family ceilidh with music from 'The Midgies',
who sent the following email to Caroline and George after the event:
|
George
/ Caroline,
Just
a quick note to say thanks for the ceilidh last night. We
really did enjoy ourselves and we hope you all did too.
I must admit when we first took the stage we were a bit
sceptical!! Most of the audience were kids and the boards
on the "floor" looked, well dodgey!! Anyway it all came
together and it turned out to be a really easy night for
the band. No real problems in getting folk on the floor.
Can
I just say that your efforts are worthwhile? It might not
feel like it in the cold light of day this morning, but
you know there was a real community atmosphere there last
night. It's not often we play in villages in the lowlands
where all the kids seem to know the dances and join in so
readily. So once you have tidied up and everything today,
you can feel really chuffed and you will qualify to wear
a self satisfied smug smile :)
If you
get time, please sign our guest book with comments on the
gig. (We can take criticism) The website link is below.

you dry weather for next time - "The Midgies".
