Information

One of our local residents spearheaded a campaign to bring broadband to Wemyss Bay. He found out the following information:

1. Our exchange is actually in Skelmorlie and serves Inverkip, Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay - so there is a greater potential customer base.

2. There is a friendly, Scottish ISP with humans on the end of the 'phone who offer broadband and actually want our business - Scotnet - http://www.scotnet.co.uk/.

Pre-registration on wemyssbay.net

wemyssbay.net set-up a pre-registration service on this site to collect contact details of those who wanted to have broadband. This information was sent to the co-ordinator of the campaign who sent the names and details on to Scotnet, who would register the details on behalf of the individuals. Pre registration did not imply any commitment to register.

One of the biggest problems was that it had been made so difficult to get registered. This one form on wemyssbay.net simplified the process greatly and helped to enable Wemyss Bay to reach the target required to bring broadband to the Bay!
