Community Centre

The community centre was opened in 1989 and is used by various groups throughout the community such as the Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, youth clubs, karate, Bible Club, judo etc. It can also be booked for one off events, such as our popular children's parties.

Having a party?

If you are thinking of having a party, why not hold it at the Community Centre? Although it is pretty busy, party bookings are still available outwith the regular lets. Even better, why not theme your party? When placing your booking just say if you would like a Bouncy Castle Party or would like DJs "Disco Divas" to provide your entertainment.

A 2-hour Bouncy Castle Party costs £52, while a 2-hour Disco booking only costs £50. To make your booking or for more information contact Kirsty on 520738. Remember that if you are having food at your party, the centre's kitchen is available for your use.


Hire tables and chairs from the Community Centre

You can hire tables and chairs from Wemyss Bay Community Centre. The hire charge is £10 for one table and eight chairs.

In addition however a cheque for £50 is required as a deposit - this is returnable as long as the table and chairs are returned undamaged and in perfect condition.

Anyone wishing to hire any tables/chairs for any special occasions should contact Kirsty Donnelly on 520738.

The centre is managed by the Community Association.

Let prices are as follows:

Items marked * must be approved by the committee prior to confirmation of the booking for the following reasons:

  1. A committee member will need to supervise opening and closing.
  2. The security and safety of those attending the event must be catered for by the organisers and committed to.
  3. Events held at the community centre need to make a positive contribution to the life of the community the centre serves. It is the responsibility of this committee to assess that contribution.
  4. A deposit must be paid of £100 within 7 days of the confirmation by the committee of the booking. The deposit will be returned minus any relevant deductions within a 14 day period after the event is held.

The centre is currently well utilised by the people of Wemyss Bay. This committee hopes to increase the service provided by the centre to its community.
